These beautiful camelias grow on an old bush in the front yard. It is not in good health because a huge live oak is spreading across its bit of the sky. The tree will have to give up a limb. Anyway these came from the inside of the bush and needed to be cut anyway. I took them to the studio and worked out this composition. It was great joy to figure how the color is so vivid and still so solid.
